- Free consultation visits for new potential clients
- Initial prenatal visit, including a full medical history, nutrition and lifestyle counseling, and physical
exam
- Most laboratory testing done in office by the midwives
- Availability to clients by phone and e-mail for questions and concerns
- Hour-long prenatal visits offered every month to 32 weeks, then every two weeks to 36 weeks, then every
week until delivery, or as necessary according to your individual needs
- Home prenatal visit at 36-37 weeks
- Medical consultation and referral available as necessary
- Extensive local resource network available for doula services,
childbirth education, acupuncture, massage, etc.
Labor and Birth Attendance

- Home birth services from 37 weeks to 42 weeks of pregnancy
- Round-the-clock availability by midwives
- Continuous care and support during active labor and the birth
- Waterbirth - labor and/or deliver your baby in a birth pool
- Qualified birth assistant or midwife student to assist during the birth
- Medical consultation and referral available as necessary
- Continued care by the midwives in the hospital if transfer is necessary
Postpartum Care for Mother and Baby

- Continuous care and support by the midwife team in the immediate postpartum period (2-4 hours after
the birth)
- Complete physical exam of the newborn after birth
- Administration of Vitamin K and eye ointment for the newborn
- Breastfeeding support
- Postpartum education and informational handouts for the new family
- Availability to clients by phone anytime for questions and concerns
- Regular postpartum visits for the mother and baby, including home visits on days 1, 3, 7 and 14, with
a final office visit at six weeks after the birth, or as necessary according to your individual needs
- Newborn screening tests at the Day 3 and Day 14 visits
- Extensive local resource network available for postpartum doula services, breastfeeding support, parenting
groups, acupuncture, massage, etc.
CranioSacral Therapy for Infants

- Gentle, effective treatments for many infant problems
- You do not have to be a client
of our midwifery practice in order to receive CranioSacral Therapy for your baby
- Home or hospital visits available
within Portland metro area
- Treatments are free for the
first 6 weeks for babies born to our midwifery clients
Well-Woman Gynecological Services
