The philosophy of the midwives of Vivante Midwifery
is that natural childbirth is an exciting but normal event in the lives of women, and birth at home for low-risk
women under the care of qualified midwives can be as safe as birth in the hospital, without the unnecessary interventions.
We strive to practice evidence-based care and shared decision-making with our clients.
We
have a unique practice arrangement in that we combine the perspectives of nurse-midwifery and direct-entry midwifery.
Linda and Laura are Certified Nurse Midwives (CNMs), and Wendy and Sarah are Certified Professional Midwives (CPMs) and Licensed Direct-Entry Midwives (LDM). We are all licensed in both
Oregon and Washington. While we come from different educational backgrounds, we share the same philosophy of natural

Our midwives believe that every woman with
a healthy pregnancy should have the option to have a natural childbirth at home and are proud to accept most insurance.
Many insurance companies will cover a home birth
with our Certified Nurse Midwives/Nurse Practitioners. Check with your health insurance provider if this is important
